Lahore, a historic and bustling city in the northeastern region of Punjab, is home to over 11 million people, making it the second-largest city in Pakistan and one of the most densely populated urban areas globally. This dense population places an immense strain on the city's healthcare infrastructure, particularly in the realm of cancer treatment, where resources are scarce and largely limited to a few private-sector hospitals. Recognizing this critical gap, the Punjab government has embarked on an ambitious project to establish the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research in Valencia Town, Lahore. IDAP is proud to be the executing agency for this essential initiative, which aims to provide state-of-the-art cancer care services under one roof.
As the executing agency, IDAP is dedicated to ensuring the successful delivery of this project, which will significantly enhance Punjab’s healthcare capabilities.
The objectives of the hospital include:
The Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research will also serve as a hub for research and innovation in cancer care. By bringing together clinicians, researchers, and scientists, the institute will facilitate groundbreaking discoveries, clinical trials, and the development of new therapies.
The hospital represents a vital addition to Punjab’s healthcare infrastructure. The institute will not only enhance patient care and reduce treatment delays but also contribute to the local economy and improve the overall health outcomes for the region's residents. Through this project, IDAP continues to fulfill its mission of delivering impactful and sustainable healthcare solutions for the people of Punjab.
