The hospital aims to provide healthcare facilities to treat cardiac patients who require immediate attention. The hospital is located on the canal with direct access to the motorway and Lahore ring road with the local catchment area of southern Lahore up to Raiwind and all adjoining districts of Lahore. The project includes a state-of-the-art seven-story building (including a basement) with top cardiology and cardiac surgical facilities. These include cardiac emergency, OPDs, angiography sections, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, CT scan, cardiac MRI, pathology laboratory, CCUs, ICUs, cardiac surgical theaters, wards, rooms, offices conference halls, etc. This will enable the hospital to accommodate the patient load of existing facilities by adding state-of-the-art facilities for general public and private patients.
Punjab Institute of Cardiology II, Lahore will make medical procedures and examinations available to the low socio-economic population at subsidized costs. There will be increased medical and ICU bed provision and new operation theaters. New diagnostic units and radiology units will be provided for holistic treatment. The project will facilitate excellence in operative and post-operative patient care to minimize mortality due to cardiac arrest situations. There will be dedicated triage to inspect patients’ condition, resuscitation rooms, and day admissions for preparation, recovery, and discharge for day patients. The project will provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients. It aims to provide aesthetically pleasing state-of-art health institutions in the district. Also, there will be Implementation of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and HIMS which covers patient registration, record keeping, physical queue management, E-prescription, supporting IT interventions for EMR and medicine dispensation.
